Eyemouth from the cliffs has seen a few good sized wrasse and Pollock. St Abbs bellow the lighthouse has produced good fishing when there are no divers about. Also St Abbs Harbour area for good numbers of wrasse and codling at night. Dunbar has been a hit and miss lately but fish are getting caught. Northberwick again as with Dunbar but fishing down from the golf coarse is giving some nice coley and plenty of wrasse. Granton breakwater is getting flooded with all the combat fishers seeking mackerel. Over on the fife side Burntisland as with Granton breakwater further up Pittenweem has been seeing some nice fish from the harbour wall. Crail opposite the caravan site for wrasse and codling aim close to the creels for codling. Fifeness for ling, and codling.

On the East coast the combat fishing has started with the Mackerel being the main target there are good numbers of wrasse being caught around the coast, night fishing best if you want to target cod, and conger and stay away from the army of fair weather fishermen.

Over on the West coast a similar story with the combat fishing, but there are a good amount of other species being caught Portpatrick for good sized wrasse. Cairnryan for dogfish, and Huss, House point at loch ryan for Huss, dogfish and Thornbacks. Loch fyne dogfish, mackerel,, thornbacks, pollock and the odd Conger

East coast

Eyemouth has been producing good numbers of wrasse at some good sizes also cod in the 5lb bracket but starting to turn red, Conger to 15lb from some of the cliff marks.  St Abbs the wrasse are in large numbers along with Pollock. Thornton Loch for flounder. Dunbar harbour has been producing wrasse, Pollock, and some small codling, Belhaven Bay for flounder and small turbot. Cockenzie for Bass, & mackerel. Granton Breakwater is starting to get mobbed with all the fair weather hunting the mackerel but only a few have been caught. Moving north of the fourth bridge into fife again  much the same with wrasse, codling, and mackerel. Dundee riverside drive flounder, sea trout, and the odd bass. Arbroath for good numbers of codling, Pollock, and the odd small Ling.

West coast

Loch Fyne for dog fish, mackerel, the odd Pollock. Greenock for Pollock and wrasse. Loch Etive Spurrs, doggies, Pollock, codling,

Now that the slack period is over fishing has started to take off again with Eyemouth producing good numbers of wrasse, pollock & codling. St Abbs for pollock, & wrasse, Dunbar has gave some pollock, codling, wrasse & coley.Mackerel are starting to get caught around the fourth but are only few and far between just now.

Due to the weather fishing has not been at it's best also because of the time of year. Thornton loch is still producing flounder and school bass. Tyningham along at loch houses for flounder but no great sizes to be had. Arbroath cliffs for coley, small codling and scorpion fish. Gourdon for codling to 3lb.

Over on the west coast Loch etive for dogfish, thornback rays, and spurry's.

Sorry for the late report. Eyemouth cliffs for codling to 4lb and the odd conger from the cave. Thornton loch for flounder,dabs & coley. North berwick for small codling and coley to 1lb. Burntisland Breakwater for dabs. Crail at the caravan site for codling to 3lb. Arbroath cliffs still producing some good codling, the odd ling,and strap conger. Tangleha can produce some nice cod to double figure. Gourdon for codling to 4lb. & flounder to over 1lb. Inverbervie Bay for codling to 5lb.

Well the East coast was giving some nice bags of fish this weekend starting with Thornton Loch Cod to over 7lb was landed. Riverside drive Dundee for sea trout and flounder Arbroath cliffs Cod to 8lb being landed. Auchmithie Codling to 5lb plus. Usan  codling to 4lb. Gourdon with cod to 12lb with bags to 40lb. Altens bags to 20lbplus.

West coast

East Coast very patchy with the heavy westerly winds Arbroath cliffs produced codling, Pollock,coley & ling. Ethie Mains produced codling to 4lb           Cullen Beach. for small flounder and the odd sea trout.

West Coast again patchy Cairnryan for dogfish and sea trout.  Balcary & Rascarrel for codling, dogfish, conger and dabs. Loch Etive for doggy's spurry's and Pollock.

Best catches this weekend are from Arbroath area with cod to 9lb and Pollock to 51/2lb all in darkness during the day only produced smaller fish. Ethie Mains for coley, codling and Pollock no great sizes. Usan for strap conger and codling to 4lb. Portlethen rock marks for coley to 11/2lb cod at night to 5lb. Riverside Drive Dundee for flounder and sea trout. Burntisland small dabs and whiting. Thornton Loch flounder, coley, and school bass.

West Coast Girvan area for coley,s Loch Etive for your usual species of dog fish, whiting, spurs, and thornie's.

On the east coast things were rather quiet with a lot of small fish being landed a big change at Thornton Loch with only a handful of fish being caught school bass, ling, & flounder. North Berwick codling to 3lb and coley just under a 1lb. Burntisland small coley,dabs,and whiting. Anstruther mostly small coley & small Pollock. Riverside Drive Dundee plenty of small flounder. Arbroath fishing very poor with only small codling could be due to the westerly winds. Auchmithie produced codling to 5lb. Usan giving plenty of codling to 4lb.

West coast Loch Etive for spurdogs, lsd's, whiting, & codling. Greenock for small dogfish, & coley. Furnace for codling, the odd Pollock and conger. Fort William for dogfish & Polock. Loch Long for Conger. Loch Sunart for spurdogs.

Well it's the start of yet another year and it seems to have kicked off with a bang on the east coast starting with Thornton loch for myself and a couple of mates landing a total of 7 cod 30 plus school bass 7 flounder and a rocklin all bass returned. North berwick was giving up codling to 4lb with the odd double figure. Over on the fife side things have been a bit patchy Anstruther being the place that most anglers headed for due to sea conditions a few codling were landed in the 3lb bracket. Further up the coast to Arbroath from the cliffs produced some nice cod to over 7lb. Inverbervie bay cod being caught to over 6lb but conditions were rough. Stonehaven producing cod to over 7lb.
